Stone House Additions
The Board of Directors approved a new playground set & retaining wall for installation at the Stone House Community Center. You can view the proposed layout of the additions here: Stone House Phase 1b. Here is some more information regarding the upgrades:
The Stone House Community Center (20670 Fernbank Court) has always been a focal point for the community. Please pardon our progress as we continue to improve the facility. This project is expected to begin in Spring of 2023, and it will include a new cornerstone retaining wall to replace the failing timber wall.
New plantings and landscape will adorn the two-tiered wall that serves as a major structural component of the pool deck. The playground will also be upgraded to include age-appropriate play facilities. A Natural Bridge and Fort Wildwood play structure are sure to be a hit. Some other additions include new park benches, a picnic table and landscaping. Finally, new trail kiosks will be installed with mapping of the extensive Cascades Trail System.
Street Paving - PL #19
Potomac Lakes section 19 is scheduled for paving during the weeks of June 5th & June 12th. The schedule is listed below and here is a corresponding map, the legend is in the top left corner: PL 19 Paving Map
Please note that there will be two different types of signage placed for the paving. One will be large signs placed by the Association near entrances to help bring attention to the maintenance occurring. The others will be smaller signs placed by the contractors along each section a few days in advance to the work. Please refer to the contractor’s signs for the most up-to-date information on paving.
Any street being serviced will be temporarily closed to traffic. Please be sure to move your car prior to 6am on the day of service, any cars left in service areas will be towed to the Westlakes Community Center (20903 Serenity Court) or the rear parking lot of the Stone House Community Center (20670 Fernbank Court) if the Westlakes lot is full. Trash can still be collected along streets being serviced, but trash bins should be placed out the evening before collection days, as trash trucks would service affected streets as early as 6am.
Please also note that in the event of rain the paving may be delayed and if that occurs, contractors will place updated signage or we will send out updates as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great week!
Streets will be closed from 8am-6pm on service days.
